Kinesiotaping
Kinesiotaping is a method of taping that utilizes elastic tape to provide multiple different benefits to the underlying tissue. It can provide increased stimulation to the nerves in that area that send information back to the brain, allowing for better muscle activation. It can also help lift and support the taped area, providing more stability to a joint without adding too much restriction. It is very useful in injury recovery, because it allows you to return to sport or activity while still having some level of protection.
Sports Rehab and Recovery
Dr. Gaston is a Certified Chiropractic Sports Practitioner, or CCSP, which is a high-level certification specializing in the evaluation and treatment of sports injuries. As this certification requires continued education to maintain it, you can rest assured that Dr. Gaston is prepared to treat whatever sports-related injury you may have. And for nonathletes, you can expect the same high-level of care to be given to evaluating and treating the stresses of your daily life.
Cupping
Cupping is a soft tissue treatment technique that dates back to ancient times, and utilizes suction to increase blood flow to the treatment area. This increased blood flow helps promote healing, and when combined with guided stretching and motion, cupping can help improve joint range of motion and decrease restrictions. While some bruising or discoloration may occur, cupping is generally painless and is an effective way to manage multiple types of soft tissue injuries.
Scrapping
Scrapping is an instrument assisted soft tissue technique designed to help break up knots in muscle and disruptions in the fascia. The stainless-steel tools used in this technique allow for more focused treatment of the target tissue and help speed up injury healing by increasing blood flow to the problem area.
Electrical Muscle Stimulation
We offer multiple different types of electrical muscle stimulation, including TENS, interferential current, pre-mod, and Russian stim. These all have varying uses that include pain relief, increasing blood flow to promote healing, decreasing inflammation, increasing neurologic stimulation, and increasing muscle contraction. Whether we’re trying to control pain or to increase muscle strength, we have the knowledge and equipment to accomplish the goal.

The Chiropractic Adjustment
The goal of the adjustment is to restore motion to a fixated or otherwise dysfunctional joint. While most people associate adjustments with the spine, they can be use on any joint, including the extremities. Generally, an adjustment is performed with quick pressure applied to a joint and will typically result in a “pop” sound as gas in the joint releases.
Soft Tissue Mobilization
Because every muscle crosses a joint, muscle work is a crucial part of treatment in a movement focused plan. We utilize multiple different techniques including trigger point therapy, cross-friction massage, pin and stretch, proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) stretching, and Post-Isometric Relaxation (PIR) stretching. Each of these techniques works to remove restrictions in muscle so that the accompanying joint can function optimally.
Dry Needling
Dry Needling is a technique used by healthcare providers to treat multiple different types of soft tissue injuries. It is performed by inserting thin needles into the tissue to stimulate healing and break down stubborn trigger points. By perforating the soft tissue, blood flow is increased, allowing for improved healing and recovery. While it may sound scary, it is generally painless and can be very effective at treating stubborn muscle conditions.
